Fund This Animated Version of the Post-Human Future

The New Kind is an anime-influenced series set in the post-human future, and the breathtaking trailer will leave your heart pounding and your brain wanting more. You can get more, too — if you donate to the Kickstarter project that's funding the 250 artists who already started work on this series just for the sheer joy of doing something awesome.

Synopsis:

Darvin and Yuka (17 and 18) fall in love but have never physically met -- a psychic link connects them. They are The New Kind; The next link in Humanity’s evolution. If they ever find each other, it will cause a chain reaction, instantly transforming all young people into god-like beings. But before that can happen, Darvin and Yuka must survive an evil force hunting them.

The projects Kickstarter page states:
We will air episode one and two of The New Kind in August, 2012.  Eventually, we plan to produce 80 episodes.  Each five to seven minute episode will air on the first of every month for free - but if one wants to watch next month's episode without waiting, it will cost $1.   It’s a new model but we think we can both give a free show to the world while also making enough money to pay for production and earn a profit.

So far we've raised almost $1 million dollars of sweat equity from over 250 visual effects artists from over 30 countries.  If we reach our goal of $100k, we'll be able to finish the first two episodes BUT...  if we raise more Kickstarter donations, we'll be able to produce more episodes!

The production company, Roninfilm, is the first international, crowd-sourcing movie studio.  They collaborate online and remotely with hundreds of artists.  Through their Facebook page, they publicly review and hash out ideas.  An interesting concept that will be certainly pricking the ears of a number of Hollywood executives.
